My very favorite vase is tall, narrow, and was an eight-dollar thrift store find. It’s always the first vessel I reach for, and it happens to be sitting on my dining table right now, hosting a vibrant bunch of tulips! That fabulous purchase, along with some genius projects I’ve stumbled upon on the web, taught me how easy & simple it is to bring beautiful glass pieces into your home. Pick your poison: milk, mercury or etched… there’s a DIY for that. I’ve been totally inspired to create some beautiful glass designs of my own, so in the meantime, I thought I’d share inspiration from some of the best in the biz. I’d love to hear which one is your favorite, and be sure to see us back here soon for my complete project!
Since we can never get enough mercury glass, we instantly fell in love with this project by The Thirteenth (above)… she simply used looking glass spray paint to transform a thrifted textured mason jar.

These enamel-painted vases by Sugar and Charm are perfection. Be sure to check out the final product.

The only thing needed to pull off this glass jar typography on Oh Happy Day is a paint pen, old jars, and a steady hand.

Leave it to P.S. I Made This to create these amazing milk-glass vases using puff paint… genius!

And Sugar and Charm does it yet again… I want these etched glasses!

The mirror-like spray is fantastic and the faux milk-glass is genius!
I can’t get enough DIYs. LOVE the puff paint vases!
Thank you for featuring our mercury glass DIY project. We love your blog!

Our pleasure! Thanks so much for all the gorgeous inspiration…this project was genius!
I have been looking everywhere for that looking glass paint! Where did you find it?
Thanks!
Hi Melissa! Krylon sells a 6-ounce can of it. I would check your local craft store, and if you don’t have any luck there, I would just order it online!
i also looked everywhere for the looking glass spray paint by krylon but no one carried it. i was trying to save the shipping charges of ordering through amazon. i eventually found it at “hobby lobby”… the best craft store around. i am in michigan – they may not have them nationwide.
Thanks for the tip Lori – we couldn’t live without Hobby Lobby around here!! xx
i love this!!!! and you have my name too!! so that makes everything even better!!!!!!
Us ‘Camille’s’ should soooo start a club!
