DIY :: Gilded Thank You Cards

As many of you know, we are huge paper freaks. Cards, notebooks, wrapping paper… you name it, we’re obsessed with it. With that, we were beginning to wonder why we hadn’t taken it upon ourselves to create some of our very own stationery. And since we’re loving everything gold, what better project than a set of super simple, but fabulously gilded thank you card’s? These designs were a cinch to make, and all come together to create a lovely suite. Keep reading for the instructions to all three!

  • heavy white cardstock
  • spray adhesive
  • gold glitter
  • metallic gold paint
  • ‘merci’ stamp 
  • black ink pad
  • 2 inch hole punch
  • scissors
  • fine tip paint brush
  • wide paint brush

  1. Cut card stock in half width-wise. Fold halves in half to create 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch cards.
  2. On another piece of cardstock, use hole punch to cut out 2 inch circle.
  3. Center paper circle on front cover of folded card, and spray with adhesive. Immediately cover with glitter, allowing glitter to pour over edges of circle, onto card.
  4. Once dry, remove circle and stamp ‘merci’ in center.

  3. Center paper circle on front cover of folded card, and paint thin gold stripes across card as pictured.
  4. Once dry, remove circle and stamp ‘merci’ in center.

  2. Use wide brush to paint a thick gold stripe across bottom of card.
  3. Once dry, stamp ‘merci’ on right end of stripe.

    I was about to order some new thank you cards, but I’m glad I didn’t because this is def a DIY that looks simple enough for even me to do! I’ll be gathering my supplies this weekend, thanks for the ideas. This has been pinned!
