The Best Foundations + Tinted Moisturizers

By Camille Styles

When it comes to beauty products, are you loyal to one brand, or are you more of a serial dater? On busy mornings, I’m generally a fan of sticking to one tried-and-true skincare and makeup routine, so I’ve always been a tad obsessed with uncovering the very best in each category. Which is why I’m so pumped about the launch of our brand new series dubbed Beauty Council Favorites. Over the years, I’ve developed a squad of product-loving friends who are my go-to sources when I need a recommendation, whether it’s a zit-zapping potion, curling iron, or a dry shampoo that really works. Some of them test products for a living (i.e. makeup artists or beauty editors), others are personal enthusiasts — and these are the girls I can count on to refer me to the best of the best. They’ve all agreed to join our team of experts who will spill their secret favorites in the coming weeks, so we can all learn from their wise ways. Today we’re laying the foundation with (what else?) the best foundations and tinted moisturizers, so click through and let us know in the comments: which one can you not live without?

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation

I can’t live without this foundation, it’s dewy and still looks like your skin. For a full coverage stick, that can be hard to find.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

-Jen Pinkston, The Effortless Chic

Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Tinted Moisturizer/Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum

Pro Tip: Using a flat brush, I apply this tinted moisturizer mixed with a bit of the repair serum for a gorgeous, airbrushed effect.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Le Teint Radiance Awakening Foundation

This is the foundation that does it all! Masks imperfections while looking totally natural and smooth, stays on all day, and even has a built-in SPF. Since foundation brushes and sponges can spread bacteria, I prefer to use my fingers to blend a sheer layer over just the areas where I really need it — around my eyes, nose, mouth, and chin.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream

-Lauren Caruso, Beauty Director at Style Caster

Chantecaille ‘Just Skin’ Tinted Moisturizer

This moisturizer is nice because even though it gives good coverage, I don’t feel as though I’m wearing make up when I have it on. Bonus: it has SPF 15.

bareMinerals Bare Skin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation

This foundation might be my favorite beauty product of all time. I’ve tried other serum foundations, and nothing comes close. This stuff is like a full-face makeover, but it’s somehow extremely natural looking and completely undetectable.

Pro Tip: apply with a fluffy yet dense brush for best results.

Beauty Counter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer

Amarte Natural Finish BB Cream

I’ve tried countless foundations, tinted moisturizers, BB creams and CC creams, and I always go back to this one. It makes my skin look even and glowy, it never migrates or creases, and it’s loaded with skin care ingredients.

-Dawn Spinner Davis, Beauty Director at Total Beauty

Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation

Pro Tip: Use a damp blending sponge for a dewy look.

-Samantha Wennerstrom, Could I Have That?

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

This foundation is really light weight, so it feels like you’re not wearing make-up, yet still provides great coverage.
