Confession: I know it’s supposed to be over-rated and the like, but I’d like to just say that New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite holidays! For one, it’s characterized by champagne, sequins, and just about anything sparkly, so what’s not to love about that? Not to mention, I have a real, inexplicable fondness for the song Auld Lang Syne.  I also love that it prompts you to make big hopes and plans for the year to come… have you made your new year’s resolutions yet? I have a pretty good idea of what this year’s word will be… but I’m still keeping it under wraps for another day!

As for our plans this year, they will probably be far less adventurous than last year’s lively times in San Francisco or what will be taking place at this gorgeous building — The Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA — but they will definitely still include sparkly things, sequins, and (non-alcoholic) champagne.

I love the idea of keeping your look simple and throwing in pops of gold and sparkle in your accessories.  I found this little leather a-line dress, and even though it’s not maternity, the silhouette is perfect over this growing bump.  I’ve been living in these Isabella Oliver leggings these days and honestly can’t imagine my pregnancy wardrobe without them! They’re nice and thick, which makes them more flattering, plus they have these equestrian type seam details that run down the front.

I’m a total minimalist when it comes to accessories. I like to pick one piece that I love and keep everything else subtle. I love the seventies feeling of this gold necklace and how it complements the gold hardware of my little evening bag. Oh! And when all else fails, a little red lipstick goes a very long way!

I hope you all have a wonderful new year celebration, filled with wonderful friends, good bubbly, and very chic style!
