Happy December, friends! Can you believe it’s upon us already? With baby girl on the way, there’s something about this holiday season that feels extra special, so I’m doing my best this month to really savor every moment. That means actually making all of those festive recipes I pin and then usually forget about, shopping for extra special gifts for all my favorite people, and making time for all of those holiday party invites and cookie swaps.

This week will be a real test of that goal since I’ll be prepping for a major photo shoot that I’m styling this weekend. With the help of my team of trusted assistant extraordinaires, I’ll dress around 30 different actors and actresses in three different looks over the course of three twelve-hour days (Don’t worry, I have a prenatal massage scheduled as soon as this job is wrapped!). This is my third year on this particular job and the aesthetic is always the same: Timelessly Stylish. You want the talent to look modern and on trend, without looking like they’re wearing something that’s going to be dated in six months.  It’s a request that I get constantly and something that I’ve adopted into my own personal dressing mantra. The bonus is that it makes getting dressed and mixing-and-matching pieces in your own wardrobe a total breeze!

I purchased this quilted leather jacket (similar to this one) last year after immediately falling in love with the simplicity of the silhouette and the understated, quilted details. It’s a style that has been around since the 1960’s a la Chanel, but since leather is a huge trend this season, it feels relevant and fresh at the moment. The same goes for these gray Coach ankle booties — the orange detail and herringbone pattern add interest to the boot and keep them from being too plain-Jane, while the silhouette is a total classic. The exception in this outfit? This graphic maternity top from ASOS.  Since I know I’ll only be wearing it for a short time, I decided to have a little fun with some of my pregnancy purchases.
