The Capsule Wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe

Earlier this month, I was chatting with my hair stylist and we began talking about the idea of the capsule wardrobe.  I’m sure you’ve seen people posting about it as it’s becoming an increasingly popular idea.  As soon as I walked in the door, I couldn’t help myself.  I promptly put everything in my closet on wardrobe racks in my office and only brought about 30 things back into it.  (Aaron was quite puzzled when he walked in our closet that night.  He also informed me that a capsule wardrobe is what guys have been doing for centuries.)  Anyhow, the experience has been so enlightening!  One thing I’ve found is that I love layers of neutral basics.  You can mix and match them to create different looks and they all work together so they’re ideal for packing or getting ready in a hurry.

This coat is actually part sweater, part coat.  It has the shape of a coat which makes it more dressed up, but the structure of a sweater so it’s pretty cozy for running errands and prepping shoots.

Have any of you guys ever considered a capsule wardrobe?  What are the pieces you wouldn’t be able to live without?
