Olympic Style Through the Years

February 9th, 2014

Olympic Opening Ceremony ensembles have humble beginnings as stepped up takes on simple activewear, and then…Ralph, Giorgio, and Stella got involved turning the OC and the athletes’ gear around their sports into much anticipated fashion events. Even though some of the Opening Ceremony looks are often critiqued for their over the top styles that would be too much for even the most patriotic citizens to wear in their daily lives (á la Team USA’s 1984 cowboy get ups by Levi Strauss), we can’t help but love the festive pageantry of it all. So, we looked back on years past and then to some of our favorites from Friday’s Opening Ceremony parade of uniforms to see just how far they have come.

Love this olympic look and that the jackets have a Star Trek vibe!

  2. Love that pic of Ryan Lochte. As long as he keeps his mouth shut, he is HOT. Great roundup…wish our outfits this year had been more streamlined, and less ugly Xmas sweater.

Love that red coat for Canada. Thinking my husband needs one…

  4. Debbie says:

Fun to see all the Olympic looks. Also a fan of the Canadian red coat.
