Though I’ve been praying for cooler temperatures and changing leaves, I’m also fully aware of the inexplicable irony that six months from now I will surely be counting down the days to warm summer weather and long summer nights… why is it that we’re always ready for the next season? In LA, we’ve been greeted by some chilly mornings and evenings these past couple of weeks, so I’ve started incorporating a few fall essentials into my regular summer staples…

The seasons aren’t the only things in transition these days! My pants no longer comfortably button, so if you see me in pants, trust that I’m wearing one of these (which, by the way, is a godsend). Meanwhile, I’m not quite to the point of fitting into maternity clothes, so I’m having to get extra creative in my closet. I’ve been living in my button down shirts lately, and I thought this jacket was a great investment since I can wear it throughout my pregnancy and also after. I never tire of wooly plaids and interesting tartan prints this time of year… they’re so classicly autumn!

These army green chinos were great when we were exploring China this summer, and are still a great transition pant for this in-between weather.

Aaron has been traveling a lot lately, so I’ve been making more dates than usual with girlfriends and relishing conversations with my favorite gals over quick happy hours and long dinners at places like Cafe Stella, as you see here. Open air, beautiful fall light and delicious food, what more could a girl ask for? Besides for cold weather and pants that fit…

Get the look!
