I don’t know what the weather’s been like where you are, but here in LA the past couple of weeks have been all over the map! We were in the 90’s one day last week and then two days later down in the 40’s… how is a girl supposed to dress appropriately?! It’s certainly been keeping me on my toes in the mornings. The one thing that has remained consistent in making outfit decisions: the steady growth of this baby bump! A couple weeks ago Aaron was out of town, and I binge online-shopped maternity clothes until the wee hours of the night. It may have been impulsive, but it has made getting dressed this week much easier…
Another thing that’s remained consistent is my love for classics. If I were forced into an official uniform, a striped tee, cropped trench coat, and a great pair of jeans would probably be the outfit of choice, maternity or otherwise. Especially in the fall — there’s something about layered basics and great classic pieces that just feel so cozy and chic!
I wore this particular look this past weekend for brunch and a little casual shopping in our neighborhood. We found out the week before last that we are expecting a girl (yay!), so I’ve begun eyeballing my favorite nursery pieces and wardrobe separates for this little girly (you can see my inspiration boards here and here)… naturally, the first thing I bought for her was striped. At least for the moment, window shopping for the wee one seems to be keeping me from doing any more impulse maternity clothes shopping!
Since I won’t be seeing you all for two more weeks, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope your day is filled with much love and delicious food! These new stretchy waist maternity jeans should really come in handy for the big meal.
