Last night at dinner, I (Chanel) found myself giving fashion lessons to my suddenly curious boyfriend. After a few minutes, the conversation took a philosophical turn as I attempted to explain why at one point in time something might look fabulous, but a few years later, the exact same thing can be so so wrong. I think my attempt was somewhat of a failure, because by the end of it all the only insight I had to offer was, ‘Who knows? That’s just the way it is.’ Which brings me to today’s installment of Pinned Down: if you would have asked me two years ago how I felt about polka dots, I would have vehemently told you that I absolutely despise them. But now, fashion being the fickle thing that she is, I seriously can’t get enough of the print… and we’ve got the Pinterest board to prove it! I’m a total sucker for that top image of the dotted skirt paired with the vintage-y lace blouse… though a pattern like that may have to wait for my post-pregnancy wardrobe.
I will always, always love polka dots. And stripes. I don’t think they ever really go out of style (much like animal prints). Very chic.
