All That Glitters

Kate_Spade_Holiday

One of my favorite parts of this holiday season has been seeing the myriad color palettes and tabletop themes that my fave designers have come up with. Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, it’s pretty obvious that red and green aren’t the only options any more! So far, we’ve played with silver + sage, leafy green, gold + copper and vivid berry…and today, I’ve totally fallen for this glittery, polka dotted Kate Spade-inspired number by the gals at Styled Creative (spotted via Style Me Pretty.) From the glittery woodland creatures to kraft paper “tree,” every detail is pure magic. Follow the jump for a peek…  more +

Sneak Peek :: HGTV Holiday

Holiday_Table_HGTVIt’s been a crazy weekend full of holiday fun already…yesterday we shot a holiday video for HGTV.com at my house, and as soon as clean-up was complete I slipped on another party dress and headed to a friend’s annual soirée. I’m so excited with how the entire shoot came together – Jess blew me away with her incredible spread of holiday treats on the buffet, and of course Ash’s flowers made the whole table magic. Although you’ll have to wait until next year to see the video, we made sure to take loads of photos of my holiday decor to show you guys next week. Can’t wait! Until then…hope you’re all having a wonderful Sunday!

Wedding Fever :: On The Line

Clothesline_4

Sophee here, and I’m so excited to kick off the weekend with some creative, fun (and practical!) wedding inspiration. I’m in the midst of helping my sister plan her own wedding, and I’m currently loving the idea of using clothespins as a photo display. I can’t imagine a better way to add a personal touch to decor than sharing snapshots of family, friends or (my personal favorite) ancestors’ weddings. Or how about the idea of pinning escort cards to a clothesline for guests to easily identify, adding a rustic feel with a clean look? Follow the jump to see more inspiring images, and let me know what you think: clothespins: are they a wedding do or a don’t? more +

Sage + Silver Holiday Shoot

Austin American Statesman Christmas Holiday Table Setting Decor Idea Place Setting Green Sage White Silver

For our holiday inspiration shoot for the Statesman (on newsstands today!), we chose a cool palette of silver & sage inspired by the shades of a snowy winter landscape. I’m so enamored with the final look that I just might recreate it for my own Christmas this year. Ash from The Byrd Collective created our gorgeous centerpieces using garden roses, dusty miller, bay leaves and all sorts of other beautifully-textured varietals tucked into her vintage silver collection. Apothecary jars full of sparkly ornaments, etched champagne flutes and delicately wrapped gifts at each place setting finished it off. Keep reading for lots more… more +

Modern & Glittery :: Holiday Appetizers

Michelle Edgemont build your own appetizer buffet bar holiday christmas party entertaining catering

Oh my gorgeous, do we have a holiday treat for y’all today! Michelle Edgemont, floral/crafting/styling maven, stopped by to share the latest sparkly + modern shoot she put together to inspire seasonal soirées. Cobblestone Catering whipped up the beautiful array of savory bites, and photographer Trent Bailey captured it all to perfection (always.) Aren’t you dying over the glittered ombré effect that Michelle created on the wooden boxes? And those peonies…words won’t do them justice. This is the first time I’ve had the chance to collaborate with Michelle, and I’ve got to say that her enthusiastic, brimming-with-creativity personality made us instant friends, albeit virtually. Be sure to pop over to check out her recent work, and don’t miss this video that gives such an awesome glimpse into her style. Keep reading for lots more images and Michelle’s top 5 tips for creating the perfect appetizer table!  more +

Coasters with the Most-ers

Linea Carter Cheers Holiday Linen Coasters

While I’m reluctant to admit that I’m a total coaster-nazi, I’m never one to force them onto guests… But this holiday season, I think I’ve found the perfect anecdote: offer linen coasters with a festive message, and people will be begging for ‘em! While these would make a relatively simple DIY project, this chic set with its perfect calligraphy by Linea Carta has made it onto my wish list. Now… don’t even get me started on the matching napkins and tea towels!

Wedding Fever :: A Latté Love

Coffee CupsHappy Friday everyone! Sophee here, back to get your take on another wedding-day trend, one that will get your guests caffeinated and ready to party. Instead of limiting cocktail hour to cold drinks, why not make the most of the coziness of a fall wedding and opt for serving a coffee bar? Offer flavored coffees, creams, and an assortment of toppings like cinnamon, cocoa, and liqueurs like Kahlua and Frangelico. (My perfect cup is topped with a splash of pumpkin spice and whipped cream!) Follow the jump for a roundup of inspiring ideas and as always, the poll’s open for coffee bars: a wedding do or don’t? more +

My Thanksgiving Table :: Rustic + Refined

Thanksgiving_Table_Decor_Ideas2

These past few weeks have flown by, and it’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is upon us. Since I spent the last few days packing a week’s worth of work into Mon – Wed, I’m setting aside all of today to do my Thanksgiving prep: grocery shopping, guest room readying and (my favorite part) setting the table. I had so many ideas for the direction I wanted to take my Thanksgiving decor this year, and I ultimately settled on a design that blends rustic elements (wood plank used as a “runner” in the middle of the table) with classic details (silver serving pieces, classic wood candlesticks.) Since I got to do a Thanksgiving “practice round” earlier in the season for our HGTV Thanksgiving video, I’m able to give y’all a sneak peek of my tabletop here. Keep reading for lots more images, and please share what palette you’re using for the Thanksgiving table this year!  more +

Yes You Mae

Madeline_MarshallI’ve been smitten with the work of MaeMae Paperie for quite some time, but ever since the brand launched its new site earlier this year, my crush has grown significantly more serious. The animal friends cards, synchronized swimmers calendar and my personal favorite, the dance step coasters, are all on my wish list at the moment…whimsy at its best! But what really has me swooning is MaeMae’s portfolio of custom wedding suites. Each one is so creative, so colorful and such a personal reflection of each couple…I might be contemplating a vow renewal. Keep reading for my favorite picks, and follow the links to see more images of each gorgeous suite.  more +
