My douglas fir is now officially up (thanks to a very kind helper) and covered in my favorite trimmings: antique silver baby cups, berries, black velvet bows, and plenty of red tartan ribbon! I guess you could say I never got over plaid, Ralph Lauren, and the nineties in general, but it’s my absolute favorite look for the holidays. There’s just something so timeless about tartan — and the fun history behind this family symbol feels especially meaningful at Christmas. Do you have Scots in your family tree?
