Blueberry, Almond & Ginger Smoothie | Camille StylesYou should probably know that as I type this, my lips are smurf-blue… and it has nothing to do with the wintry temps outside and everything to do with the very tall glass of this blueberry & ginger smoothie I just downed. I’ve been doing my own modified (i.e. less hardcore) version of a detox the last couple of weeks, and part of that has been trying to incorporate an easily digestible liquid meal or two each day. Lunches have been warming soups like this coconut carrot one, and breakfasts have mainly been smoothies made of vegetables, berries and always some burst of spiciness from ginger or jalapeño. It’s been so fun to experiment with different flavor combos, and this one is a new favorite. It’s really light and clean-tasting, but has just enough sweetness to be a hit with even those among us who are skeptical of spinach in their smoothie. I’d love to hear all of your favorite smoothie combos in the comments, and let me know if you try this one… I swear that it’s totally worth the resulting smurf-lips! Keep reading for the recipe…

MIne is a mix of banana, seedless grapes, melon, strawberries, spinach, milled chia seeds, milled flax and coconut water. I make a double batch and put them in a bottle to take to work – fast and healthy breakfast for two days and I know that I’m getting my greens and vitamins.

  11. Tristan says:

Excellent taste! Although I added twice the blueberries because it turned out really runny and very pink. Love the ginger, it adds such a punch to an already delicious smoothie. I added greek yogurt (Oikos) just because that was what I had on hand and turned out well. All in all an excellent recipe, thanks!. Thumbs up from Canada eh!

What are the total calories in this, especially for the coconut/goats milk yogurt? I’ve not seen either.
