Bottoms Up :: Rhubarb Sparkler

March 27th, 2013

Rhubarb Sparkler Cocktail | Camille Styles

I’ve got to admit that I was totally blown away (in the best way possible) by the response to yesterday’s announcement. You never really know what will happen when you put something like that out there (will anyone even care?), and I went to bed last night feeling incredibly thankful. You guys sure do know how to make a girl feel special. For today’s edition of Bottoms Up, I thought we should toast the occasion with a little bubbly… and in honor of spring’s arrival, something pink and fruity seemed just the ticket.

I happened to have this lovely bottle of Rhubarb Hops (from artisanal preserves company quince & apple) stashed away in the pantry – part of a thank-you gift from the Style Me Pretty team after our recent Behind the Blog feature. Those SMP girls are a classy bunch. Anyway, I’d been dying to try the brand’s recipe for its Rhubarb Sparkler, and with just four perfect ingredients – rhubarb hops, orange juice, orange bitters & prosecco – it couldn’t have been simpler or more delish. Do you guys ever use bitters? I just recently started incorporating them into cocktails I mix up at home, and I’m convinced that they’re that secret something that takes a good cocktail to out-of-this-world status. Keep reading for the recipe…

    WOW this sounds delicious. It is like an upscale fancy mimosa. I light just have to track down some rhubarb hops for my Easter brunch this weekend. Seems like the perfect drink for the occasion. Thanks for the inspiration! Congrats on the book!

    Oh so you use Rhubarb Hops? I was wondering how this was going to work when I saw the post title because I don’t think I can get rhubarb in my super market. It does sound like a fancy mimosa! =) Congrats again on writing the book!

    Yum, sounds so refreshing ;) I haven’t used orange bitters before, but I definitely like to have a well-stocked bar for impromptu parties… Will have to get some next time I go shopping!

    This drink was so good. Haven’t stopped thinking about it. I may have to break out my bar tending gear at home and try to make one myself!

  7. Looks delicious! Can’t wait to test it out.

    This look amazing! Could you tell me where your glasses are from? Thanks!

    • I wish I could, but they’re vintage glasses passed down from my great grandmother… one of my only family heirlooms! Anthropologie does have some etched champagne flutes that are similar, though.
