Jenn here, happy to share a fun little something from last weekend. I always celebrate my birthday, but it’s usually a last-minute thing with a fairly small group. This year I wanted to include more people, but wasn’t sure if I was up for hosting a full-blown nighttime event. “What do you feel like doing?” a friend asked me. “What do I want to do?” I said, “I want to not get dressed, drink bloody mary’s, and listen to some good records.” And thus the idea for the Pajama Brunch was born.
To my delight, my guests totally embraced the theme! It was fun to see what everyone wore — Camille looked cute in her favorite Plum Pretty Sugar robe, Chelsea had on a classic navy pj set from j.crew and Claire surprised us all with her totally amazing Super Mario Brothers pajamas. With a little help from Word of Mouth catering, I served super spicy bloody mary’s (my favorite!) and mimosas alongside a brunch buffet featuring beet deviled eggs and saffron chicken sandwiches. DJ Johnny Bravvo spun songs from my favorite White Stripes albums mixed with some soulful oldies. Guests left with a hand-made favor: tasseled earplugs à la Breakfast at Tiffany’s!
The party was such a success that, who knows, next year I might be up for hosting a Saturday night cocktail party. But I can tell you this much — it’s going to be hard to beat the Pajama Brunch, and getting straight back into bed when it was over.
Loooooooooooooving this idea, its so much fun to do different things for your birthday.
Thanks, Lenya!
Aw this is such a great idea! I especially love the favors
Thank you so much, Ani! We had a blast.
this is a brilliant brilliant idea. Wherever did you find those Breakfast at Tiffany’s earplugs? I instantly recognized them
Thanks, Blair! I actually made the earplugs. I bought the tassels at a fabric store and tied them around foam earplugs I found at Walgreens!
Love this post, and loved this party! xo
Yay! Thank you, Claire!
What a fun and great way to celebrate your birthday! You all seem to have had a wonderful time!

I know, Lotoya. I looooove my restoration hardware fuzzy robe. I still need to get a pair of slippers, though!
OMG…those earplugs are so fabulous! So Audrey Hepburn
Thanks, Amy! One of the guests emailed me that she actually used them in the airport this week. I bet she got some looks!

Yum! That is what I call a “hot” bloody mary! What a clever & fun filled way to celebrate a
birthday. (Hard to beat girlfriend parties.) All looked so pretty in your pj’s & beautiful smiles.
Ditto on those earplugs & the door sign…loved them! D
Thanks, D!
How stinkin’ adorable! And I’m diggin’ that poster wall…anyway you have a zoomed out photo or inspiration for it?
Thanks MontgomeryFest! Unfortunately I don’t have a zoomed out photo of that wall… yet! I’m working on having my place photographed soon. I’m sure we’ll link to the story here on http://www.camillestyles.com, so keep checking the site! In the meantime, this is the photo that inspired the 2 floating shelves I had built over my buffet. (The posters are leaned against the wall on the top shelf) http://pinterest.com/pin/244390717249536451/

An ugly pajama party sounds fun, too! As long as I’m getting to wear pajamas, I’m cool.
