As a pattern-loving child of the eighties and a Southern girl named after my great-grandmother, Rose, I think it’s safe to say that florals are in my DNA. I insisted on clinging to my Laura Ashley “Bramble” bedding all the way through college (and trust me when I say, that was not cool at the time.) So after a long pattern-phobic decade, I’m excited to see florals return this spring in the form of unexpected headpieces, decadent gowns and a few over-the-top photo backgrounds. I even tried to make one myself! My favorite applications of florals have always been bedsheets and romantic dresses, but this season I’m looking for new ways to incorporate it, too.
