‘Tis the season for cozy drinks that warm chilly hands just in from the cold… and warm insides with a toasty shot of bourbon that’s guaranteed to get the festivities started. It was only recently that I tasted my first hot toddy, and I couldn’t believe that it combined the comforting flavors of my daily mug of tea into a party-worthy drink I’m planning to serve at gatherings all winter long. And the simple list of ingredients makes it a snap to mix up on the fly for last-minute guests. This one adds a bit of untraditional fresh-squeezed orange juice for a bright citrus burst. Keep reading for the recipe!

Just finally getting a chance to catch up on old posts – and I love a hot toddy! I will have to try adding the fresh squeezed orange juice. Another trick I love is steeping some chamomile tea instead of straight hot water (or any hot tea for that matter). It certainly makes for a good night’s sleep! Now, if we could just get that cooler weather to come back…

YUM, the addition of tea sounds sooo flavorful! And the best way to cozy into a long winter’s night… 😉

And what do you do with the Cinnamon sticks?

  9. char1951 says:

I don’t see where it says what to do with the cinnamon sticks. Do you just use them to stir the today or are they grated in?

  11. Kathryn M. says:

BEST hot toddy every! I’ve tried a number of recipes over the years, and this is by far my favorite. My whole family loved it, even the alcohol free version I made for a non-drinker in the family.
