So y’all know that January is all about becoming our best selves, and it’s been so refreshing to talk healthy habits, nutrition and fitness over the last few weeks… and today, I wanted to take a moment to talk about professional growth. So many of you are creative entrepreneurs or have a dream that you’d like to grow into a business, and I get tons of questions about how to develop a personal brand and market your products and services. Last year I posted about building a personal brand (one of our most popular posts ever) and today I thought I’d dive a little deeper into one key component of that: creating a great website! I recently launched my company website, Camille Styles Inc., as a place where press, clients and sponsors can go to find out more about the company, as well as a spot to showcase all our best work in one big easy-to-navigate portfolio. I used the recently-launched SpaceCraft platform which – full disclosure – happens to be my husband Adam’s company. Aside from being a shameless plug (which it is), I wanted to intro you guys to SpaceCraft because it really is quite a game-changer: super affordable ($8 a month!) and easy-to-use (even if you don’t know code, like me!) Keep reading for a little tour of my new site, as well as what you need to know to build a great one of your own…

One of the reasons I wanted to have a site that was separate from this blog was to have a place where we could showcase our very best work all in one place – where our readers could access photo galleries from all our different shoots and easily gather inspiration for their own celebrations. Whether you’re a designer, photographer, stylist, or any other creative person, having an easy-to-navigate portfolio with big, beautiful images is key to communicating your brand and attracting clients.

As a blogger, social media is hugely important to staying connected with our readers, promoting content and keeping in touch with brands and other bloggers we work with. But even if you’re an entrepreneur or small biz owner who may not have time to regularly blog, integrating your Facebook, Twitter & Instagram feeds right into your website is a great way to keep your customers up-to-date on all the latest happenings with your company (and it also helps your SEO results!)

Guess what? I don’t know any code and am not even close to being a technical expert. It used to be that every time I wanted to make a change or update to my website, I had to contact (and pay) a web developer to do it for me. With SpaceCraft, I can go right into the dashboard and make any changes I want quickly and easily, which is so key for maintaining a website that’s always relevant and up-to-date with the newest info.

How many of you guys access websites as much on your mobile devices now as you do on your computers? Me too, and we all know how annoying it is when a website isn’t formatted properly for phones and tablets… but building a separate website just for mobile isn’t practical for most small business owners, so I love that SpaceCraft has already done the work for you. Every website built on the platform is mobile optimized, which means it looks great and works perfectly no matter what device you’re using. Head on over to try it for free, and let us know in the comments what challenges and questions you have about building your own website – it’s really the first step to building a great brand!
