When Martha Lynn isn’t writing our Pretty Simple column here on the blog, she’s busy running Austin’s premiere salon, Mirror Mirror. She’s a successful business owner, a mom, and just about the cutest person we know. There’s no one we trust more than Martha Lynn to take us from blonde to brunette, long to short, and even give us a bit of love life advice when we’re in the chair! Today we’re excited to learn the secrets of her cheerful, preppy style…

Scarves. All year ’round,  I almost always have a scarf on. The bigger, the better because I can use it as a wrap if I find myself getting chilly! image source.

Bobbie Brown Rich Chocolate Eye Palette. We used this chocolate palette on the “smokey eye” tutorial and I fell in love.  All of the perfect neutrals with a mix of shimmer and matte!

Iced Tea. I live for iced tea… preferably sweetened. If you see me out and about, chances are I have an iced tea in my hand. image source.

Living Proof. The product line that changed it all for me! I can’t say enough fabulous things about this entire line… we’ve been carrying it for a year at Mirror Mirror and it’s been incredible to see my clients hair transform from the very first use. I created a program called HAIR REHAB that truly showed clients how to love their hair again.

Monograms. A monogram just makes everything feel more special. I recently took an Old Navy vest and added a monogram to the collar for our Glamping trip, and voila! It looks like a million bucks.

The Moscow Mule. Also dreaming of these personalized Moscow Mule mugs which brings me to my next essential… I can’t quite figure out the perfect at-home recipe, but I’m having a lot of fun trying! I’d love to know if you have one?

Louis Vuitton Never Full. There was some serious negotiating when I convinced my husband to let me forgo the traditional diaper bag for this splurge! It’s so perfect, I got this pattern which I love because the straps are dark brown and never look dirty. We laugh at the name “never full” because mine always is, but I can easily fit my laptop and everything I need for Ford in it!

Lipstick. Specifically, MAC lipstick in Frenzy. Don’t get me wrong, I like a pretty lip gloss, but I love lipstick. My lips are a little on the pink side so I need a more neutral shade… this one has a little pink, a little brown and a little shimmer for the perfect everyday color.

Rosemary Beach Florida. Growing up in Alabama, we always went to the Florida coast for vacations. This year we took Ford on his first beach trip to Rosemary Beach and I fell in love. Bike rides, cobblestone streets, fabulous restaurants (my favorite is George’s at nearby Alys Beach) and the white sandy beaches make this the perfect spot! image source.

Colorful Tennis Shoes. Specifically, Nike Frees. I stand all day for a living so I really look forward to putting on my running shoes. I am obsessed with Nike Free’s and all of their bright colors, and they keep me on my toes while chasing a toddler around.

Capri Blue Candles in Volcano. This is the official scent of Mirror Mirror (and my home!)

Glasses. I’ve only been wearing glasses for a year but they are quickly becoming my favorite accessory. I recently met with Pierre and Isabelle, the owners of Starling Eyewear, and fell in love with their frames! They are locally designed here in Austin and operate out of the most precious airstream.
