Pantone Produce

pantone_fruits_vegetables

Couldn’t resist sharing this stunning display of colorful fruits and veggies, inspired by Pantone swatches and nature’s bounty. Wish I could read everything on the french site griottes {palette culinaire}, but really the jaw-dropping food and photography alone make it drool-worthy enough to add to your daily reads. Love this creative roundup of colorful produce, matched to Pantone shades and displayed as little works of art. Makes me want to mix up a big, colorful salad on this rainy Sunday! Oh, and don’t forget to stop back by tomorrow morning – I’ll be sharing some news that I’ve been dying to spill…

I am a graphic designer and have been noticing how trendy Pantone colors are becoming across multiple disciplines. Sephora will soon have a Pantone-inspired collection and I am now learning just how much Pantone impacts the fashion industry. Did you know that Pantone recruits 10 people every year (whose names are kept a secret) and sends them to Europe, where they meet to decide the next set of colors we the masses should drool over in future seasons? Crazy, no? And as a complete design nerd, I love it!

I saw only brief hints of this on another persons blog…first time I’ve seen the whole ‘collection’ so to speak.

    Hi Camille,

I love your project. it reminds me of an artist I discovered named Sophie Calle. She did a weeks worth of found based on a color a day. It had nothing to do with Pantone, but it was in the same vein. Nice work.
