Last month, Adam & I checked into the Hotel St. Cecilia here in Austin for a little stay-cation to celebrate his birthday. Every detail was perfection in that so-hip-without-trying kind of way…so when our floral contributor Ash sent me the latest wedding that she worked on there, I knew it would be full of cool, Austin-style inspiration. My first meeting with Claire and Kelly took place over cocktails at the Hotel San Jose…within the hour they had invited me over to meet their chickens. I loved them immediately. There’s something about these girls (their sweet story and happy smiles) that makes you believe in love all over again. As we got to know each other over the next few months, I was inspired by their love, kindness and trust in me to do what I do best as we planned the details of their wedding.
We worked together on creating a subtle palette with pops of bright red and yellow. Claire and Kelly let me select whatever flowers were freshest and most gorgeous. I incorporated dahlias, garden roses, succulents, anemones, ranunculus, stock, jasmine and greens (gathered from my yard) to create the look that they both loved. Brooke Schwab captured it all in her always-magical way…a true master behind the lens.
