Weekend Notes

Avocado & Tangerine Salad, photo by Cedric Angeles for Bon Appetit

It’s been a doozy of a work-week with 4 photo shoots and lots of deadlines, and I really couldn’t be more ready for a couple of slower-paced days – finding time to soak up such little luxuries as sleeping in, going to a movie (dying to see Somm) and trying out some of the new recipes on my list like the avocado & tangerine salad, above. The chill-out time will have to wait just a bit longer though…this morning I’m off to Argus Cidery to speak about blogging & being a creative entrepreneur at a workshop hosted by The Ruby Collaborative, and I’m so excited to spend a couple hours with such an inspiring group of creative gals. What are all of you up to? Hope you make time for some laid-back fun – summer is flying by, and it’ll be fall before we know it! A few great links from around the web this week:

30 signs you’re almost 30 (am I the only one who identifies with almost all of these?!)

St. Tropez is on my dream destination list, and this makes me want to go there even more…

This “hang-time hierarchy” makes me laugh… does it ring true for any of you?

5 days, 5 looks, 1 (incredibly stylish) girl.

Don’t think the setting could get any dreamier than these St. Bart’s nuptials.

This post makes me want to start scrapbooking again…especially if mine looked as pretty as Elsie’s!

*and a few fun things you may have missed!

How convenient that it’s taco and tequila season! Here’s what to make with both.

The Confetti Pop girls threw the most lovely summer party and spilled their best entertaining tips.

Claire made a jaw-droppingly gorgeous hammock, and shared the full DIY with us!

We were dying to see Somm too..and then totally hated it. It was really long and boring and could have been an awesome 30 minutes of material that they made stretch. Not worth it!

Really?!! Darn… I didn’t make it this weekend but was *this close* from going today. I have to admit that I was a little concerned it might be slow moving… but that is so disappointing to hear!

That makes two of us… after a night of late night drinks, all I want to do is clean my house, do yoga and eat vegetables!

The marathon one made me giggle so much… I hadn’t realized how very true that is! One scroll through my Facebook feed confirms it! ;)

I kind of agree with Sadie, the movie is a little boring, but it is still interesting. We ordered it on AppleTV, I wouldn’t see it in the theater. Is it showing in the theater?

Good to know… I’m thinking it might be a renter. It’s so hard to ever find anything good to download when I’m in the mood to watch a movie at home, might as well save it for that!

What I am up too, let’s see… I’m about to celebrate my 28th birthday! I just got married AND moved into a new house! I’m about to go back to school in a few months… busy, busy, busy!
