Rethink Your Coffee Table With This Piece of Furniture

Shopping for furniture is hard. We may buy a pair of shoes once a season, so after just a couple years you have 5-10 shoe buying experiences under your belt. You learn your taste, what looks good on you, what’s functional, and what you love year after year. With furniture, you don’t have that luxury. You can’t try it on for size to see if it fits the rest of your home before you buy. If you make a trend-driven purchase it’s not really sustainable to buy something new every season. And that’s how I ended up coffee table-less for years, waiting until I found the one. If you’re on the search for the perfect coffee table too, I suggest you consider an ottoman as the answer to all of your coffee table quandaries. Keep reading and I’ll tell you why.

Childproof – If you have small children who need to be protected from sharp corners, this is a perfect solution. Even if you’re just the type of person who tends to walk into corners or stub toes, then an upholstered ottoman is for you.

Additional seating – Your living room furniture may be plenty of space for you and your family the majority of the time, but on the occasion that you have guests over, it pays to have extra seating right at your finger tips.

Sit back & relax – When you have a precious coffee table you (or your guests) may not feel at ease putting your feet up on the table, but with an ottoman you can sit back and relax while you watch an entire season from start to finish on Netflix.

Versatile – An upholstered may be soft enough for guests to sit on and kids to climb on, but with the quick addition of a tray they can also be hard enough to put your drinks on.

Easy to move – I have a pull out sofa, which means that I have to move my coffee table every time I have guests over. Making the bed is a breeze, but moving a big, heavy table first is a two-person job. An upholstered ottoman is easy to slide and move on your own whether you’re having guests over or are just prone to rearranging your furniture regularly.

  1. Love this recommendation! I’m currently doing an extensive family room reno and a tufted ottoman is in the plan for it’s look and functionality.
