Jasmine Love

July 29th, 2014

Best Jasmine Products | Camille StylesIt seems that every time I visit a new destination, I somehow fall head-over-heels for a certain scent that comes to represent the place in my memories. There were the rose gardens in Paris… the lavender in Tuscany… then the diffusers that smelled like sea salt and were placed in every corner of our hotel while honeymooning in Capri. My latest obsession is with jasmine flowers, which grew all over the gardens and walls of our hotel in St. Tropez earlier this summer. Their scent is at once sensual, delicate and feminine, and I find it completely intoxicating. I’ve been searching for ways to bring the fragrance home with me, and while I wait for our new jasmine vines to blossom in the backyard, I’ve found a few simple ways to get more immediate gratification. Here are my current favorites: Best Jasmine Products | Camille Styles

  1. diptyque jasmin candle
  2. le labo jasmine perfume oil
  3. jo malone white jasmine & mint
  4. black jasmine liquid marseille soap by compagnie de provence
  5. voluspa amaranth & jasmine

What scents do you associate with favorite places and memories?

I am also obsessed with jasmine! It grew everywhere when I lived in the SF Bay Area and miss it so much. I’ll definitely be picking up one of these suggestions. Thanks!

  2. I love having the ability to connect a scent to a certain destination. It always brings back so many memories! I think most of mine are perfume based – it’s worth using a different scent for each place you go. I do love the smell of jasmine though. That brings me home as I often have a jasmine candle burning.

I love the Diptyque Jasmine candle too! Now if only I could get you to find the scent of the spa in our hotel in Hawaii – I still remember it 5 years later!! Xo, S

A friend told me before our wedding to wear a unique & special perfume on the big day, she said it would bring back memories every time I smelled it. It was one of the best pieces of advice I received, now I love opening that bottle, it always makes me so happy!

white tea and ginger always reminds me of our honeymoon suite and ever since, I’ve been searching for the perfect combination of both to bring home with me. I’ll definitely have to give the jasmine options a whiff, though.

  8. I love jasmine!! It is the scent of summer evenings here in India!! Summer is unbearable and as the sun begins to set at dusk…a light wind picks up and pick up the fragrance of all the summer flowers.. and jasmine is my favourite!!

  9. I love smelling something that’s reminds me of one of my favorite designations. The diptyque candle is amazing – it smells so wonderful.

  10. Jasmine is such a beautiful scent. I also love magnolia because it reminds me of my wedding day, and tuber rose because it reminds me of our second wedding in India.

  13. Jasmine is my favorite floral scent, I actually went to buy some this weekend and the nursery said they won’t have any until next Spring!

My very favourite (and somewhat affordable) room scent is ‘fresh linen and jasmine’ by Laura Ashley. I get it every time I’m in the UK, but you could order it, too. It’s subtle enough to have all around the home (not just the bathroom…) and I always have people comment on it, when they come around.

Here’s the link for the diffuser, if you’re interested (but there are also room sprays, candles and drawer sachets)
