Editors' Essentials with Claire Zinnecker | Camille Styles

Those of you who have been following along with Claire’s Transformed series over the years have probably caught on to her super distinct personal style. The first things that come to mind: bright palettes, gold details, industrial inspiration and vintage flair. We couldn’t wait to take a head-first plunge into the our favorite interior designer’s must-have-items to discover the tidbits and trinkets that make her so darn stylish. So without further ado, take it away Claire…

Camera. I’m constantly stumbling upon something that inspires me, so I always have to have a camera on hand. Even if it’s just my iPhone, there’s always a moment, pattern or color to capture. image source unknown.

Mexican blankets. Available in a rainbow of bright color combinations, I can’t get enough of these. One on my bed, a couple in the car, these are great to have on hand for an impromptu picnic at Zilker. image source.

Fresh flowers. For me, a fragrant bunch of blooms can brighten even the hardest days. If I had my way, there would be fresh flowers delivered to my door once a week (or more!)image source.

GoodpopsConfession: I am an ice cream addict. If it was socially acceptable, it’d be on the menu for every meal of the day. Fortunately for my waistline, Goodpops (specifically, strawberry lemonade or banana cinnamon) satisfy my sweet tooth without taking a toll on my daily caloric intake. image source.

Boots. Winter, spring, summer or fall, there’s a good chance you can catch me in a pair of boots. Some lace-ups from Steve Madden, tall riding boots from Frye or a pair that I’ve scored at a vintage store, they’re my go-to footwear. image source.

Chambray shirtI’ve acquired quite a collection of these — instead of a sweater, I always have a chambray button-down on hand to complete any outfit.

Laura Mercier Mineral PowderThough I don’t wear much makeup, this powder is a necessity to my getting-ready regimen. It controls shine while doubling as a light concealer, so I always keep it in my purse for touch-ups throughout the day.

Pretzels. If you know me at all, this one’s a given. I typically have a bag of pretzels with me wherever I go… that salty crunch satisfies like nothing else. image source.

Candles. Nothing soothes me like the fresh fragrance of a burning candle, and with two dogs in the house, I need all the help I can get! Right now I’m loving this one from West Elm. image source.

Touch of gold. Whether it’s my favorite gold necklace from Wildflower Organics, my gold thread rings from Olive Vintage or my vintage gold watch, My outfit never feels complete without a splash of gold. image source.

Tape measure. As a designer, I always have my eyes peeled for a good furniture find, so having a tape measure on-hand is non-negotiable… the 3-ft one on my key ring is an absolute life-saver! image source unknown.

Monte & Emma. I can’t imagine life without my two best friends. From bed time cuddles to neighborhood jogs, these two have always been there for me. photo by Wynn Myers.
