Weekend Notes

November 3rd, 2012

fall

Well, it’s been an interesting week, to say the least. Turns out that all of my stressing about Phoebe’s Halloween costume was for naught, since it turned out I was bedridden with a nasty stomach bug (which is also why I’ve been a bit absentee from the twittersphere.) Our Halloween consisted of turning off all the lights and getting in bed so that trick-or-treaters didn’t know we were home. Ah well, there’s always next year. I am pretty excited about this coming week when my mom and I will be strapping Phoebe into her carseat for her first road trip to East Texas to meet her great grandmother for the first time! She’s the first great grandchild, and I know it’s going to be so special to have four generations of women in the same room. Definitely looking forward to some relaxed time catching up with family after a relatively chaotic couple of weeks. Hopefully P behaves herself on the long car ride! What are all of you up to this weekend? Hope it’s full of cool autumn weather and soul-warming food with fun friends. And as always, enjoy my favorite links from the week!

Can’t wait to attend this event…so many great artists in one place.

Congrats to my blogger-friend Taylor – looks like her big day was utter perfection.

If you’re not sick of pumpkins yet… these look to-die-for.

Lots of little pretties from Caitlin.

These patterned paint rollers are kind of genius, don’t you think?

If only getting passport photos was always this glam.

*and a few fun things you may have missed!

How to master the art of the red lip.

Start planning your Thanksgiving table with Poppies & Posies.

And what I’ll be whipping up for my vegetarian guests on turkey day.

I always love your weekend links! I love skimming through other fun corners of the web. Can not wait to try that pumpkin brûlée!!!! Best of luck on your first long road trip with your daughter. I recommend having a good lullaby iTune playlist and some good pit stops planned for fresh air. I also always used those window sun blocker shades just in case certain directions we were headed had bad sun glare on the car seat or my daughter’s face. That way, it minimized it and kept the car cooler. If she likes white noise, then dress her warm and blast the air in the back seats for extra humming in the car. That always worked for Kensi! :)

It’s next year that counts, she’ll be able to trick or treat then!
