Monochromatic Monday :: Amalfi Coast

dark turquoise amalfi inspiration board

Now that summer’s officially here, I (Jenn) can’t stop daydreaming about my next beach getaway. Lately I’ve had visions of beating the heat in the cool, dark turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, somewhere along the Amalfi Coast… maybe the ancient town of Ravello where Jacqueline and Lee Bouvier used to vacation together (sigh). A girl can dream, right? Until my travel dreams become reality, I’ll be finding ways to incorporate an Italian seaside vibe into my summer decor using one my favorite hues: deep turquoise. I might start with these hand-blown glass lanterns from Anthropologie and throw in a few blue and turquoise pillows from Giardino, and I can always add a few more pieces to my collection of Judy Jackson bud vases. I’ll seal the deal with this turquoise cuff from Kelly Wearstler and a flowy white caftan, and I’ll be all set for the Italian Riviera (or grilling by the pool) oh-so-stylishly! What vacation spots are you currently fantasizing about?

    I love this color scheme! We’re in the midst of a cold, rainy spell, but this post has me ready for the sun to come back.

    So happy to wake up to my favorite color this morning! I’m dreaming of a trip to the Caribbean. It’s just a hop, skip and a jump away from Atlanta!

    Ooh love that bikini top! I’m dreaming of a long stay in Croatia. My hubby went there in ’06, and we’ve even considered moving there for a spell. Until then, I’m dreaming away ;)

    Happy Monday to you, Jenn!

      Thank you, Kristina! I, too, have heard that Croatia has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Apparently they haven’t been over-commercialized, either. Sounds absolutely wonderful!

    You’ve made me swoon. I traveled to the Amalfi coast a few years back and long to return. These dark turquoise hues take me back and I can even smell the air! Love it. Thanks for the inspiration to include a little more of this colour in my life.

    Lovely post. Amazing colour. Do you happen to know where the bikini top is from? I tried to follow the links, but cannot get a source via tumblr.

      Sabine — I’ve yet to find the original source for that swimsuit top, either. I would love to know where to buy it myself. If any readers out there recognize it, let us know!
