In the same way that I fall for a certain color each season (current crush: coral), I also find myself enamored with a specific texture or pattern that I gravitate towards in my wardrobe, table designs and (not surprisingly) pinterest boards. This summer, it’s undoubtedly lace, which seems to have shaken off any notions of old lady status and suddenly feels incredibly sexy and fashion forward. Since lace has become such a frequent sighting on the red carpet over the last few seasons, I spent some time combing through the archives of lacy ensembles donned by celebs, and I realized that my favorite interpretations are short, playful and often black – bonus points for edgy details like unexpected cutouts. This board takes a much more subtle and romantic approach to lace, however, and as I created it, I found myself dreaming of a farm table covered in vintage lace set under an old oak tree. For a wedding perhaps? If I have them on the brain, it’s probably because my little sister got engaged over the weekend. Congrats you two!
