I have the fondest memories of school on Valentine’s Day, don’t you? I remember leaving the house decked out in shades of red and pink (uniform permitting), and handing out sweet little valentine’s to everyone I knew. Whether it was a piece of candy or tiny cards with names handwritten on them, the day was always buzzing with friendly exchanges between classmates. This year, I’ve decided to revive the tradition (grownup style) by creating these matchbox valentines. The big game is just days away, and I can hardly contain my excitement for nearly four solid hours of incredible commercials football. Now, I may not be the biggest sports expert, but I do pride myself on being a master of party-throwing… so you can be sure that a Super Bowl soiree is no exception. Since nothing says ‘celebration‘ quite like confetti, we created these football-shaped cascarones (or confetti eggs) to add a festive element to your game-day, perfect for smashing when your team scores! DIY :: Floral Pin Card Holders


We thought we’d kick off the weekend with a project that is so simple, I can’t believe we hadn’t thought of it before. See that fabulous gold menu card holder on our all-white  buffet? If you hadn’t already guessed it, it’s actually made of a dolled up florist’s pin frog! Usually used to keep flowers perked upright in a vase, we realized that with a few minor tweaks, these spiky disks would make the perfect place card or menu card holders. DIY :: Ring Around the Wreath

It seems that each year, the influx of holiday cards seems to double in size. And while the holiday season wouldn’t be the same without them, we’ve seriously been lacking in organization… to the point where they all get lazily propped up on a kitchen counter where we can’t even enjoy them. Of course, Martha had just the solution! This card wreath made of clothespins and an embroidery hoop has totally saved our sanity this year, while also making for quite the special decorative piece.
