DIY :: Floral Pin Card Holders

We thought we’d kick off the weekend with a project that is so simple, I can’t believe we hadn’t thought of it before. See that fabulous gold menu card holder on our all-white  buffet? If you hadn’t already guessed it, it’s actually made of a dolled up florist’s pin frog! Usually used to keep flowers perked upright in a vase, we realized that with a few minor tweaks, these spiky disks would make the perfect place card or menu card holders. Keep reading for the instructions, because this is one DIY you can’t afford not to do!

DIY :: Gilded Business Cards

gold business cards craft diy spray paint

Remember when Camille shared her newly-spruced up business cards last week? Well, since you were all so curious to find out how we gilded the edges of the cards (and since we’re feeling so professional today, anyway), we thought this would be the perfect time to show you the step-by-step. After trial and error with acrylic paint and even a stamp pad, our trusty gold spray paint proved itself superior once again, making the project surprisingly simple. Follow the jump for the full instructional, and be sure to show us your revamped business cards! more +

DIY :: Under Wraps

holiday christmas present gift diy wrapping paper stencil spray paint original unique ideas

When it comes to gift-giving, wrapping the presents is half the fun (or all the fun, depending on who you ask). And what could be more special than custom-made, personalized wrapping paper? Since butcher paper is our go-to material these days, we decided to use it as a blank canvas and treat it with stencils and spray paint for a look that’s festive and completely unique. Of course, once we got going with this idea, we realized the design possibilities were endless… so we thought we’d limit ourselves to monograms and a bunting motif in a palette of gold, silver and green. This project couldn’t have been simpler, but just to make sure you’ve got your bases covered, we’ve included the instructions after the jump. more +

Saving Vase

diy easy craft glass do it yourself vase paint

My very favorite vase is tall, narrow, and was an eight-dollar thrift store find. It’s always the first vessel I reach for, and it happens to be sitting on my dining table right now, hosting a vibrant bunch of tulips! That fabulous purchase, along with some genius projects I’ve stumbled upon on the web, taught me how easy & simple it is to bring beautiful glass pieces into your home. Pick your poison: milk, mercury or etched… there’s a DIY for that. I’ve been totally inspired to create some beautiful glass designs of my own, so in the meantime, I thought I’d share inspiration from some of the best in the biz. I’d love to hear which one is your favorite, and be sure to see us back here soon for my complete project! more +
