Buenos Aires Snapshots

CamilleStyles_BuenosAires Hola from Buenos Aires, m’dears! Thought I’d steal a few minutes to share some snapshots of the trip from my perch at a sidewalk table, café con leche in hand. Yesterday we spent the morning browsing at the largest mercado I’ve ever laid eyes on; the San Telmo Antiques Fair is packed to the gills with vendors selling their (often bizarre) wares, street performers, and even tango dancers entertaining the crowds. Follow the jump for more of this totally unique Buenos Aires experience…

As we perused handmade leather goods and tables lined with silver and maté sets, vendors zoomed past us with trays of steaming empanadas, fried peanuts and freshly-squeezed orange juice carts.

I picked up tons of these gorgeous colored pencils to display in my office. The masks, I didn’t touch…but I thought their creepiness was worth capturing. I’m off to enjoy my last day in BA, and stay tuned for a few more snapshots when I’m back in Austin tomorrow. Oh, and don’t miss an amazing DIY that Claire’s got lined up for us tomorrow morning – her headboard is complete, and it’s gorgeous!

Wow, Camille! These photos are so pretty. And you’re right, those masks are uber-creepy but kind of neat at the same time.

I LOVE THE PENCILS! I love how they sharpen them with utility knives (well they do in India). I used to make my dad do that for me when I was younger!

I LOVE BA! We went to Argentina and Uruguay for our honeymoon a couple of years ago, and your post so ignited the need to go back! Love your blog – only just came across it. I must be living under a rock!
