I took a little Twitter poll last week to find out if y’all wanted to see photos of my holiday decor…and let’s just say, you answered loud & clear! I have to admit that since it was our first year in our new house, the process of decorating the entire space was a little daunting since I had to start from scratch. But once I decided on a cohesive color palette (silver, white & evergreen) and a general vibe (a fresh take on traditional), I had a total blast. I used tons of boxwood garlands indoors & out, and gathered all the silver ornaments I could find for decorating the tree, filling vases and scattering on surfaces. Christmas is my favorite time of year, and the whole house feels completely magical…especially since I’ve been blasting awesome holiday playlists for the entire month of December. Keep reading for all the festive little details!
Since I hardly had any ornaments from our old house, I knew I had to be strategic to make an impact on such a big (10 foot!) tree without spending a fortune. Using our silver and white palette, I bought several inexpensive boxes of silver balls from Target, then splurged on some pricier, more special pieces to really make a statement. The gorgeous finial topper is from Ballard Designs.
My friend Ash from The Byrd Collective made this gorgeous arrangement; doesn’t it remind you of a snowy winter landscape? A collection of white & silver ornaments looks so charming piled in a vintage silver candy dish.
Yay! Adam & I finally got stockings this year. I felt so legit picking them up from the monogrammed. A bay leaf garland and mercury glass votives finish off the mantle.
Anyone else share my obsession with glittered woodland creatures?
More silver balls, surrounding a pine-scented white candle in a hurricane vase. When it’s lit, the candlelight bounces off the little disco balls and casts such a magical glow around the room.
Raise your glass…
and toast to the season! Hope yours has been beautiful so far. And since I’m sure I’ll completely change our holiday look for next year, I’d love to hear all of your tried-and-true tips for decorating your homes for the holidays!
