When it comes to gift-giving, wrapping the presents is half the fun (or all the fun, depending on who you ask). And what could be more special than custom-made, personalized wrapping paper? Since butcher paper is our go-to material these days, we decided to use it as a blank canvas and treat it with stencils and spray paint for a look that’s festive and completely unique. Of course, once we got going with this idea, we realized the design possibilities were endless… so we thought we’d limit ourselves to monograms and a bunting motif in a palette of gold, silver and green. This project couldn’t have been simpler, but just to make sure you’ve got your bases covered, we’ve included the instructions after the jump.
- butcher paper
- spray paint
- letter stencils
- bunting stencils
- Wrap presents in butcher paper.
- Print and cut bunting stencil, and monogram stencils in desired font & size (we used ‘Capitals’ font).
- Position onto wrapping paper, and use double-sided tape to secure in place. Spray paint presents and allow to dry.
- Peel off stencils.
Such a cute, original idea.
Such a cute and affective idea!
That really is cute! Plus, there is something extra special about holiday stuff when you take the time out to handcraft items, even the wrapping paper!
Totally agree – and I’ve been reaping the benefits of Chanel’s craftiness by keeping these under my tree. So cute!!
Love this idea! Happy Holidays
