Dreaming of a White Christmas

White_Silver_Christmas_Cookies

Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it. – Roald Dahl (found via here.) That quote epitomizes the “Christmas spirit,” doesn’t it? I woke up this morning expecting magic – holiday music drifting through the house, a roaring fire in front of the sparkling tree, sweet sticky buns and coffee for breakfast – and magic is just what I found. My husband and I arrived back to Austin late last night, and we’ll be spending a cozy day together unwrapping presents, and later going to my British mother-in-law’s house for her traditional roast dinner. This time of year, I always spend some time in self-examination, writing in my journal and deciding on my New Year’s “word” (remember last year’s?) that will define 2012. I’m looking forward to the quiet week ahead to do just that (and maybe hit up some after-Christmas sales too, of course!) Hope you’re all having a peaceful and blessed day, and merry merry to all my dear readers…you guys mean so much to me!

What a beautiful round-up, Camille! Merry Christmas to you! I’ve decided to think of a new year’s word also. It’s a great time to be with family and reflect on all you have accomplished. I’ve been looking back at old pictures of my family and I and putting something together for my dad’s 50th anniversary next as I will be in grad school in London. It’s magical how families and friends come together :)
