My Essentials :: papernstitch

I just love this time of the month, don’t you? You know, the day when we get to unearth the style secrets and must-have products of our favorite creative people on the planet? Today we’re peeking inside the indie-chic casa of Brittni Mehlhoff, owner of papernstitch, a curated exhibition site promoting artists, designers and maker. She also pens the fab papernstitch blog, where she creates the most craftastic DIY’s that have been featured in Country Living, Readymade, 100 Layer Cake, Design Sponge and more. We’re so excited that Brittni stopped by to share a few of the items she can’t live without!

{1} My favorite necklace is one that I received as a gift from Mai at Woodland Belle a while back. It’s a bronze quail-shaped necklace with the tiniest little feet. I wear it all the time and it just makes me smile every time I look at it.

{2} I have a real sweet tooth and I am borderline addicted to cake and cupcakes. Red velvet is still my favorite, but I don’t discriminate- any cake will do!

{3} My brother bought me the most amazing book for Christmas this year: Lotta Jansdotter’s Handmade Living. I keep it right next to my desk. Definitely a must have.

{4} Without a doubt my furry companion, Luna, is an animal I just can’t live without. She is a rescued pit bull terrier and my very first dog. I am incredibly attached to her. *I’d like to think I’m not attached in a crazy kind of way, but I totally am.

{5} Art is a really big part of my life. And ever since college, I’ve been following Kelly Lynn Jones. Her collages are amazing.

{6} I was never a candle girl. But once I bought a Volcano candle from Anthropologie, I was totally hooked. It’s now my favorite scent. Wish I could make it into a perfume.

Many thanks to Brittni for sharing all her lovely faves with us today. And if you haven’t already, spend some time being thoroughly inspired over at  papernstitch today!
