Do y’all remember how I was busy planning A’s big birthday bash a couple weeks ago? Well, just got the photos back from She-n-He, and I couldn’t resist sharing a few of the details with you guys. It’s so fun looking back through all the pics of our friends and remembering what a special night it was! No doubt it’s one we’ll never forget. This multi-tiered cake I made was constructed out of 300+ chocolate chip cookies that I made for A, just because they’re his favorite thing in the world. It was a huge hit, although the sparkler candles were a little overly-dramatic…it’s a wonder I didn’t catch my hair on fire! Keep reading for a few more details from the night, and I’ll be sharing a couple of DIY decor projects I put together for the party next week!
We kept the bar menu super simple with A’s favorite cocktails – greyhounds and palomas made with fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. They were awesome (except for how many times I had to mop to get all the grapefruit juice off the floor post party.)
I’m going to show y’all how to make this fun crêpe paper number sign next week.
DJ Manny rocked the house.
The incredible menu was prepared by Word of Mouth, and included all of A’s favorites from ahi tuna tacos to grilled fig+prosciutto pizzas to BLT’s…all in “mini” form, of course.

Wow! So elegant and refined. Definitely a “you’re all grown-up now” party, hehe! You two are adorable in that last photo. He does NOT look 40! xo.
Ha, I agree! Although I can’t promise to pass it along – mustn’t let his ego get inflated!
Aww! This is so sweet and glamorous at the same time. You two are such a gorgeous couple!
Wow! You have done an amazing job! Gorgeous Pictures!!!

Wow, 300+ chocolate chip cookies! Such fun!! It certainly looks like it was a hit.
It totally was…a *little* time consuming, but so worth it. And I packed up the leftover cookies as favors for the late-night guests!
That last picture is so cute. Looks like it was a great party!
Gorgeous pictures! Looks very hip and elegant. Those ahi tuna mini tacos looked amazing!
This party is darling. Isn’t it remarkable what a precise line of candles can do to a setting! Everything looks dreamy and it’s so fun to spoil our men (whether they care about the details like we do!) Continued best wishes!
Aww, thank you!! You’re so right…a perfect line of candles is one of my quickest, cheapest party decor secrets.
Beautiful and so elegant party. you both look gorgeous, blessings
Happy 11.11.11 and a happy weekend.
How thoughtful and lovely Camille! I love the layout of your home, so open and perfect for entertaining. Curious: Was that a considered factor when designing the house?
Love this! Tell A Happy Birthday!! My husbands is on the 28th,I’ll have ti use your ideas’
Awe… that’s a sweet picture of you two. I love the chocolate chip cookie idea instead of a cake. Why does everyone serve cake anyway?
The appetizers look delicious! I think I snacked on “Word of Mouth” at La Dolce Vida once…
Nice!
First off, this is INCREDIBLE. You are such an inspiration! Those little apps remind me of Bite by Bite. Second, I REALLY love the new look. It’s been so long since I’ve read my blogs. This is definitely a sweet, refreshing post. Last, can’t wait to see how you made the letters! (Planning a 25th anniversary party for my parents!!)
Everything was just perfect! You have such a great taste, and certainly a source of admiration.
