Tuesday Tastings :: Watermelon + Mint

Watermelon_Mint_Salt_CamilleStyles Do y’all put salt on your watermelon? It’s an old trick that concentrates the juices of the melon, making it that much sweeter. I’m a big fan, and ever since I tasted my friend Tiffany’s amped-up version at a July 4th party, my watermelon consumption has reached new heights… Follow the jump for the simplest of summer recipes!

Cut a ripe watermelon into big wedges, then sprinkle with sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and finely chopped mint. The longer this sits in your fridge, the more the juice concentrates and the better this watermelon gets. Enjoy!

    Try squeezing lime over watermelon – delish! Works perfectly in homemade watermelon margaritas or Popsicles.
