A Lingerie Pop-Up Party

By Molly McConn

All you need is love, your favorite ladies and luxurious lingerie to turn any regular afternoon into an affair to remember. And we were able to do just that with a pop-up party we hosted with the help of our friends at Flora Nuit, a brand that brings shopping for beautiful intimate apparel into the comfort of your own home. Their pieces are as pretty as they are practical, as the two founders, Melissa and Laura, are both firm believers that lingerie shouldn’t be set aside for special occasions. They do, however, believe that shopping for it can be extra-special. So for the love of romance and lace and all things pretty, we invited a few gal pals over to indulge in scalloped trims, pink petals and sparkling rosé at our lingerie pop-up shop party. Follow along for all the feminine details to inspire your next girls-only gathering; you’ll fall in love with Flora Nuit in no time just like we did!

Flora Nuit was founded from Melissa Silvetti and Laura Maurer’s vision that shopping for intimates could be a whole lot more fun. And so their in-home luxury pop-up shop concept was born!

For our party, the brand supplied a stylish selection of beautiful sleepwear, intimates and pajamas from their current collection, and we transformed a room of Camille’s house into a serene boutique where guests could relax and peruse.

Margot Blair Floral brought in a gorgeous arrangement of full, textured blooms inspired by the lacy designs of the lingerie. Garden roses, anemones, ranunculas and hyacinth came together to add feminine flair to the space.

Laid out carefully on a table we cleared for the occasion, the lingerie circled the stunning centerpiece of our pop-up boutique.

Flora Nuit’s current collection features a perfect palette of blush, plum, lavender, periwinkle and cream.

The robes and nightgowns were some of the most swoonworthy pieces in the selection. The Flora Nuit team believes that lingerie should be part of your daily routine, not something stored away for special occasions, and that style and comfort are not mutually exclusive. Job well done! These fit like a dream.

Camille opened the doors to her bedroom to create a welcoming space for guests to try on their intimates. We adorned her full length mirror with a greenery garland from Margot Blair Floral, and wrote a playful message on the mirror with lipstick to give the in-house fitting room a personal touch.

The tried-and-true secret to satisfy guests at any party is making sure there are a few delicious things to sip and snack on. For this feminine soirée, chocolate was a mandate, so we served it up in a decadent ganache topping orange cupcakes garnished with candied rose petals.

This rustic buffet table from Loot Vintage was overflowing with sweet treats for guests to try in between picking out pretty new PJs. As for sips, we offered guests something sparkly and pink and perfectly fitting for celebrating love: a Rosé Brut from Le Grande Cortage.

These pistachio lavender madelines dipped in a lemon sugar glaze were the perfect bite-size treats, and tasted just as good (maybe better!) alongside a cup of coffee for breakfast the next morning.

Look for the recipe for these on the blog in weeks to come!

Piled high in these rose-colored coupes was a dark chocolate mousse with berries, a recipe Camille took straight from her mother’s kitchen. Since these are refrigerated overnight, they’re prepped and ready to go by the time your guests arrive.

At the end of an afternoon full of careful deliberation over what was worthy of our lingerie drawers, the chocolate mousse was a well-deserved reward. After the time we had, there’s no doubt that shopping for lingerie is way more fun at home, surrounded by your friends, and with a glass of champagne in your hand.

The key to keeping this party decor feminine and cohesive without going over-the-top frilly: incorporating natural colors and textures. We broke up feminine pastels, like these gorgeous earthenware lilac plates, with earthy hues and neutral-toned pieces.

When it was time for a toast, guests gathered around Camille’s coffee table, which we topped with a large square cut from Minted’s floral toile fabric. With desserts aplenty and bubbly flowing, this laid back feast easily beat out any pricey prix fixe meal at a restaurant.

We couldn’t help but feel flirty holding these gorgeous rose colored flutes from BHLDN.

Guests had a blast snacking while they searched for their sleepwear. It was such a treat to gather a few friends together to treat ourselves, then leave feeling romantic and relaxed with new lingerie in tow.

With so many sweet things to choose from, your guests may never want to shop for intimates in a department store again!

We’re currently coveting the Aima Dora Juliet Demi Bra in blush.

The company of close friends while shopping brought us to the consensus that we all wanted to jump on the bralette bandwagon. An added bonus of shopping together is that we encouraged each other to look at pieces at the pop-up that we might have never picked out ourselves.

Camille checks out the Skarlett Blue Unlined Balconette (and with her currently growing bod, was glad to see that Flora Nuit’s pieces come in a really wide range of sizes to fit gals of all shapes.)

You’ll feel especially special in these pieces because they can’t be found anywhere else, and Flora Nuit products flatter all body types. We all agreed that the scalloped lace edge and dusty blue/gray color of the Holly Jabouley Lace Underwire Bra made it one of our favorite pieces of the collection.

Don’t be intimidated by the thought of turning your home into a boutique overnight; there are plenty of spaces to show off the selections.

Flatter some of your favorite items as well as your favorite furniture like we did with this vintage, tufted chair from Loot. No need to bother with hangers! Lay the pieces out to display and pass them around throughout the party.

With its floral print and lightweight silky material, Jessi fell in love with the Penelope Robe.

Our potpourri bar created a fresh smelling party space, and served as the perfect party favor for guests to take home with their new pretties.

To build the bar, we filled mix-and-match bowls with dried herbs and spices — like lavender, rose petals, bay leaves, cloves, star anise, peppercorns, and cinnamon — and invited guests to mix up their perfect blends.

We adorned these muslin sachet bags with some simple hand-embroidery, and each guest packaged their own potpourri mixture to take home and place in their lingerie drawer alongside their new loot.

Something this pretty is deserving of packaging of the same quality. We picked up inexpensive lingerie boxes at the local craft store, then tucked guests’ garments in grey tissue paper for the ride home.

Stickers secured the tissue paper in place, but a strip of washi tape would look just as sweet. The boxes were then tied with black ribbon and gold cord trim, and a single stem taken from our floral arrangements was tucked into the bow for a final garnish. Can you think of a more thoughtful send-off for party guests?
