My Maternity Staples

By Camille Styles

As any of you who have been there can attest, dressing a growing bump can be a challenge. I thought I’d have it mastered by the second time around, but since I “popped” a lot faster with bébé #2, I’ve had to be more mindful of dressing my ever-changing bod practically since my first trimester. Every mom-to-be has her own unique shape and different clothes flatter different gals, so there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to flattering maternity wear. But since several of y’all have asked about my favorite pieces to wear when expecting, I thought I’d share some of the staple items that have truly carried me through this pregnancy. I’m a big believer that this is a time when there is nothing wrong with finding a few pieces that you feel great in, and then wearing them to death. There’s a good chance you might not wear them after baby’s born, so you might as well get your money’s worth out of them now by keeping them on steady rotation. Storq Spring Dress

This dress hugs growing curves in all the right places and is one of the few pieces that I’ve felt sexy in throughout this pregnancy.

ASOS Maternity Soft Origami Top

I’ve worn this top constantly — it’s soft and flowy without being too oversized, and looks just as great under a blazer as it does worn on its own.

J.Crew Maternity Pixie Pants

These are a godsend! As tailored as well-cut pants and as comfy as leggings, these are my go-to bottoms for meetings or lunch dates where I need to look pulled together.

J.Crew Regent Blazer

Not technically maternity wear, this blazer has been the item I’ve constantly thrown on over blousy pieces to make outfits instantly more streamlined. I have it in camel and black… and yes, I wear it unbuttoned.

HATCH The Denim Legging

Even though my husband likes to make fun of my “jeggings,” there is no arguing the flattering cut and comfort of these leggings that (when worn with long tops) look just like skinny jeans without cutting into my growing midsection. The BEST for travel.

Anthropologie Paned Cocoon Dress

Another non-maternity item that has been amazing these last couple months. I dressed it up with heels and dressed it down with flip flops for various SXSW parties, and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever gotten so many compliments.

ASOS Maternity Plunge Soft Twist Pencil Dress

This dress is so pretty, super affordable, and totally date-night approved.

Isabella Oliver – The Maternity Tank

If there’s one article of clothing I’d recommend stocking up on through your pregnancy, it’s a collection of great stretchy tank tops. I wear one under everything to smooth out bumpiness and provide more support to my belly.

HATCH The Lily Dress

This dress is so romantic and makes being pregnant look easy, breezy and cool. I love it for casual weekend brunch, as well as dressed up with heels and pretty jewelry for a night out.

Storq Basics Bundle

You bundle of pregnancy essentials is a must. Stocked with wear-everywhere leggings, tank, dress, and skirt in the softest stretchiest material — each piece will be on constant rotation.
