Even for those of us who love our jobs, the Sunday night blues are for REAL. I’ve noticed that especially when I’ve had a fun and carefree weekend, the transition back into the structure of the work week can be a tough pill to swallow. In an effort to take back my Sunday nights, I asked some of the happiest and most productive people I know how they set themselves up for Monday morning success, and turns out, there are a handful of habits that pop up again and again. Keep scrolling for 8 power moves I’ve been incorporating into my routine, and I’d love to hear in the comments how you prep yourself for the week ahead!

I agree 100%. I’ve recently started a bullet journal, and I do each week’s layout on Sunday night. By spending 30 minutes with my schedule, I feel more in control of my upcoming week, and can reflect on what went well the previous week.

Great list! I spend time with my planer every morning and think about what I have to do each day. Need to start planning my Outfit ahead 🙂

  3. Yes to all of these! I totally don’t plan my outfits properly though. I put something together and pick something completely different haha

i most definitely agree with the calendar time and the outfits! i cannot leave picking out my outfit to that morning or i’d never get there. meal prep is highly important to my week too – takes the stress out of monday especially if i already have dinner prepped. the calendar prep staves off those last minute surprises and emergencies especially with our kiddos! i need to add in doing something meaningful. sometimes the day turns into prep day and i miss it all together!

These ideas also improve likelihood of success if you’re a student or full time homemaker/childcaregiver as well. It’s also a great example of teaching your children how to set the tone for their busy lives filled with sports/music lessons, school, homework, family, and friend relationships. My children used to set out everything they were wearing the night before, or on more than one occasion, even went to bed with the next day’s outfit on. Wouldn’t recommend that to adults 🙂

Yes! I love doing all these on Sundays! It’s so refreshing! I also create a master to-do list of things that have to happen that week so when I’m planning the day-to-day, I don’t miss any pieces.

I love this post! I already sometimes do almost all of these things some of the time; now to make them part of my every Sunday evening routine. Thanks!

I truly agree with and presently employ several of these points. While I would not refer to myself as a goal-oriented person, I definitely set goals, review, and revise them as needed. This goes a long way toward feeling a sense of accomplishment. Good reminders?

  10. Great points! did the calendar one today and most sundays I have at least lunch or breaky with my friends xx thanks for sharing these tips

Meal prepping takes a lot of stress off the week! And if you plan your meals ahead you are more likely to stick to healthy options! Something else that has really worked for me is planning my workout outfits for the week ahead. I workout in the mornings and there is nothing worse than fumbling through your drawers half asleep at 7am in the morning, looking for that other sock…

  14. Fab points. Need to implement them into my Sunday evenings!

  15. Alisha says:

Ha! Yep, cleaning out your purse is a really good one that I need to start doing!!

Ummm where did all of the fab white onesies come from? I would be way more productive before bed if I looked that good!
