Did anyone else resolve to read more books this year? I committed to, at the very minimum, consistently finish my book club’s selections. They’re always great, I just sometimes don’t manage to quite get to the last page before we meet. Anyway, reading is such an incredible way to feed the mind and soul, and this month’s selections are a little more wellness-oriented than usual because that’s just what I’ve got on my mind right now! Here’s what’s on my January reading list, and please do leave a comment letting me know of any books you highly recommend – I’m always looking to add to next month’s list!

{1} I admit, this edition of Wuthering Heights is pure eye candy. I’ve been obsessed with Mr. Boddington’s stationery for years, so I was pretty over-the-moon to discover these classics available from Anthropologie brimming with special details like ribbon markers, deckle-edged pages and colored endpapers in addition to the beautiful covers. I want to collect them for Phoebe’s room, and hopefully she’ll be a book lover one day and read them all!

{2} Although I read pretty much all my mags on the iPad now, Anthology is just too pretty not to have in print. Since it’s not too widely available in stores, I’m thinking about going with a 1-year subscription so I don’t miss any inspiring issues.

{3} I posted The Happiness Project a few months back, but thank goodness I didn’t read it until now because (a) it’s my book club’s selection this month and (b) it couldn’t be more perfect for the month’s theme of embracing my best self. I’m almost finished, and I can’t wait to go back through all my highlighted notes and make little post-its to stick around the house as reminders. This one, for example: “Research shows that happy people are more altruistic, more productive, more helpful, more likable, more creative, more resilient, more interested in others, friendlier, and healthier.” Now I’d say that’s a goal worth pursuing.

{4} I know, I’m a little behind the times on this one… but I’ve only now become addicted to Heidi Swanson’s whole, natural foods blog 101 Cookbooks. I suddenly want to make everything she posts! So her cookbook, Super Natural Every Dayis pretty much a no-brainer for me, chock-full of her go-to recipes that are simple enough to whip up on busy weeknights…and feel really good about myself in the process.

I’ve spilled, now it’s your turn! Let me know what you’re reading this month!
