Is it just me, or is springtime filled with tons of girls-only engagements?  From bridal showers to baby showers to sunday brunches, there seems to be no end to girly gatherings. Last Friday I decided to host one of my own… if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em, right?  There have been lots of exciting things going on over at The Effortless Chic and I wanted to round up some of our contributors to celebrate over brunch. Mary and I met up before our little shindig to snap a few photos of my look while I was picking up flowers for the event… how cute is this little flower shop?  It’s just around the corner from our house and has been there for 64 years!

While showers and brunches are usually full of a-line dresses in bright prints, I love the idea of mixing a sweet floral top with a white jean or skirt.  Plus, it’s a little more versatile for other engagements.  You could add a navy blazer on top of this top with a slouchy boyfriend jean and great pump for a totally different and more business appropriate look.

I keep this little red Comme des Garcons pouch in my purse at all times.  It’s where I keep all of the little items that normally float at the bottom of my bag together in one place– lipstick, hand lotion, pens, etc.  However, sometimes if I’m running errands, I will add my credit card and drivers license and forgo the toting around of a huge day bag.

Friday at brunch, one of our photographers (Kat) mentioned that she has been a bridesmaid in 11 weddings!  That is a whole lot of bridesmaid dresses and even more bridal showers!  Can anyone top this number?  I’m dying to know!  Now that I’ve spilled my go-to daytime party/shower/brunch look, what’s yours?
