Did you know that there are less than a hundred days left before the end of the year? As we turn the corner into fall, the countdown on the last 25% of this year has begun and my schedule seems to have naturally gone into overdrive. I spent part of last week in New York, creative directed my first shoot back in LA yesterday and will be on set all day tomorrow styling for one of my favorite brands. I’m pretty sure things will only speed up as the holidays inch closer and everyone scrambles to complete shoots by year’s end. After downshifting for much of this year after having Parker, I’m embracing the craziness, feeling more creative than ever, and ready to take on what the rest of this year brings my way!
In light of this increasing work mode, I’ve also shed my usual skinny jean routine and have been loving skirts. Nothing says “I mean business” like a boucle skirt, am I right? The knotted tee keeps it more fun and playful than a button down or blazer would. While we are still battling some less than fall feeling temperatures here in LA, I’m imagining this with opaque Wolford tights, chunky heeled boots, and a trench coat in a couple of months. Fingers crossed!
This post was shot at the Old Zoo here in LA. It’s fun to imagine walking in and out of these caves where lions and tigers and bears once laid their heads… oh my! Plus it seems pretty fitting for a post about getting back into work at full-speed. After all, it’s a jungle out there.
