Do you all have a go-to hair style for those mornings when  you don’t feel like spending more than 90 seconds on your entire outfit? For me, a bun at the nape of my neck is always a safe bet, and even on days when I do put a lot of thought into my hair, it still always winds up in a low bun by lunch time.  Which is why I’m excited for today’s tutorial in which Martha Lynn proves that my comfort hairdo has a slightly-more-glamorous (and a whole lot larger) big sister, and after seeing the super easy step-by-step, I’m not so afraid to give her a try. Follow the jump to see how it’s done!

  1. Start with hair in a classic ponytail. We chose to begin with a deep side part. Slide the mesh donut onto the ponytail, up around the elastic.
  2. Tease ponytail in sections to add texture, then spray each section.
  3. Roll sections inward, and tuck behind the mesh donut. Secure with bobby pins.
  4. Repeat with remaining ponytail sections all the way around the donut. Spray entire bun.

I recently purchased on of these and it has been my go-to on humid days! No more teeny bun for me 🙂

I also wore it to a wedding and got so many compliments!

I recently changed my hairstyle to a pompadour and i am all about teasing the hair! Its such a useful trick to making your hair stay in a particular place and shape. When my hair get’s a tad longer, I’ll be trying this bun for sure. It looks beautiful.

GORGEOUS! I also love low vintage inspired updos for everyday but have a hard time making my fine hair look pouffy enough. What a great trick!!

My hair is so thin that even using a small donut, I can barely get my hair to cover it. I can’t figure out how yours looks so smooth after you’ve teased it. I will just have to practice because I only managed to get it looking decent 1 out of 5 trys.

I haven’t tried this method yet for the ballerina bun! You make it look very easy so I’ll definitely have to give it a shot! The bun looks great on you!
