Happy Friday, everyone! What do you all have planned for the weekend? Here in Texas we’re beginning to slowly feel early-summer transitioning into mid-summer, where temps are going to continue skyrocketing and all of Spring’s beautiful blooms will sadly start dying away. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I (Chanel) was spending some time gardening, so this weekend I’d love to snip a bunch of the herbs we’ve be growing (plus whatever veggies will be ripe), and put together a few super delicious and seasonal dishes. Though lavender doesn’t grow wild in Texas, it’s so quintessentially summery that I’m just dying to incorporate it into a few of this weekend’s creations. I’m dreaming that next June I’ll find myself wandering through the lavender fields of Provence, but until then I’ll be baking and brewing in their honor here at home. Click through to see some of my favorite lavender creations, and I’d love to hear of any more that should be added to the list!

Mmmm, I know it’s not quite the season for it, but that lavender hot chocolate just sounds so good to me right now. I love lavender, and look forward to doing more cooking with it.

What a great feature! I love lavender in everything – soap (Dr. Bronner’s!), lotion, body oils, candles, even my homemade cleaning solution…then there’s the FOOD…

I once went to this amazing chocolate shop and had lavender honey hot chocolate. It was out of this world! Thankfully I found a place that sells local honey and lavender honey is one of their products, so I was able to recreate at home 🙂

That sounds AMAZING. I might have to do some research and source some lavender honey of my own… would be incredible in tea.

Love this roundup! I am currently obsessed with incorporating lavender into all aspects of food/ drink. I recently created a Lavender 75 recipe for vmac+cheese as a guest post here that I think you’d love (http://vmacandcheese.com/2012/06/07/provence-inspired-recipes/)!
