Our favorite app is somehow greater than the sum of it’s parts: a square photo with filters. Instead, it’s an entire world to be discovered, a candid glimpse into the lives of those we admire, and a visual language all it’s own. In case you’re not already compulsively checking this addictive little platform, we’ve rounded up our top ten favorite instagrammers for your consideration. Take a peek, get inspired, and who knows… you might get a “follow” back!
Mimi Thorisson @mimithor
Those with tendencies towards lifestyle envy beware: Mimi Thorisson’s instagram account is not for the faint of heart. This is what life looks like when you’re an ex-model living with your beautiful brood of children in the French countryside. Orchards, architecture, and food, oh my! We’re proud to call her a contributor to our site, and study every post carefully. Anything to make life look more like Mimi’s!
Emily Blincoe @thuglifeforevs
With her intricate photos of quirky monochromatic collections, phrases created entirely from flora and fauna, and surrealist overhead portrait series, Emily Blincoe has already gathered over 50,000 followers on instagram. We can’t wait to see what this creative mind does next (and can’t believe she’s based right here in Austin!)
Justin Chung @justinchung
This New York-based photographer leans towards minimalism in both his professional work and his deliciously clean instagram account. Well, that, and lots of cute dogs.
House of Herrera @houseofherrera
One of our favorite fashion houses to follow, Carolina Herrera offers a glimpse inside her incredibly chic office and next season’s collection in her well curated instagram account. Her “throw back Thursdays” alone are worth the follow: Hanging with Mick poolside in the 70s? Yes, please!
David Coggins @davidrcoggins
New York-based writer David Coggins creates a world of rustic solitude through his beautiful and dreamlike instagram account. We imagine that he’s a gentleman, and would like to meet him for a well crafted beer somewhere up North in late summer. We wouldn’t have to talk. We could just watch the sun set together.
Paul and Wendy Projects @pvankooy
Citing everything from vintage Paul Rand dust jackets to limited edition records to antique stamps, Paul and Wendy Projects (an art collective based in Ontario, Canada) explore color and shape with a passion. Their bright, graphic snaps are always a cheerful spot in our feed!
Mark D. Sikes @markdsikes
We love following LA-based interior designer and blogger Mark D. Sikes as he searches for the most beautiful vases, fabrics, and furniture on earth. And we can’t help but swoon over the glimpses into his own incredible home. That terrace!
Roséline Lohr @thisisglamorous
Just like her incredibly curated blog, Roséline Lohr’s instagram account is dedicated to all things feminine, French, and utterly fabulous. From antique door details to gorgeous arrays of flowers, we can’t get enough!
Caroline Sieber @carosieber
We’ve been following this stylist to the stars and brand ambassador to Chanel ever since we featured her amazing wedding here on the site a few weeks back. Whether she’s flying somewhere fabulous or hanging out on the stairs of Coco Chanel’s Paris apartment, we love living vicariously through this enviable instagrammer.
Claiborne Swanson Frank @claiborneswansonfrank
We’re still saving up for a copy of the cult coffee table book Assouline’s American Beauty by portrait photographer Claiborne Swanson Frank. In the meantime, we’re obsessing over the well-heeled beauties featured in her instagram feed: everyone from Olivia Palermo to Amanda Hearst, all soaked in Americana, leaned against the perfect vintage car.

Thanks! I was late to the party as well — Chanel and Camille had to get me on board with it last year. Emily was one of Chanel’s discoveries. So cool!

Carolina Herrera is a personal fave, did a blog post on her recently, and I didn’t realize she was on instagram! Following her right now.
I’m a big Carolina fan, too. Just discovered her instagram a few months back. Fun getting a peek into the world behind the label.
Thank you for sharing! I loved the list, awesome photos.
So glad you like it, Nadia! I had fun putting this one together. It was hard picking just four images for each instagrammer. They all have so many good ones!

love! and Mimi is a dream 🙂
Right? I was joking the other day that @mimithor is “my favorite show” right now.
I feel like my feed is going to be full of only the best and most inspiring photos now! It’s odd how fascinating instagram or I suppose, a glimpse into people’s lives (or the way they want to portray it) is to us!

Agreed, McKenzie! Fascinating topic. I think you could argue that in today’s age many of us are producing and editing our own “reality shows” through social media… the power to shape perception through these new tools is amazing.
Such a great list. I think I’ve found a few new faves!
Always LOVE finding new inspiration via my fave platform. Thanks for sharing! Big Hugs xo
