What type of feeling does the word “fireplace” evoke when you hear it? For me, a fireplace is an invitation to simply relax — a beckoning to cozy up and stay awhile. It’s an excuse to hit the snooze button on day-to-day demands, instead choosing to frivolously watch the flames dance the day away. Along with its power to mesmerize, there’s also the fireplace’s architectural glory, which creates ambiance in a room like nothing else. We couldn’t think of a better time than the coldest part of winter to round up our favorite fireplaces around, from modern and minimalist to Parisian and chic. Click through the slideshow and let us know which one you’d choose!

If you ever get a chance to go to Canada, head over to BC and Hatley Castle! They have several stunning fireplaces with excellent details. You will also enjoy the gardens immensely!
