It still seems a little surreal that I had my baby shower last Saturday – I’ve been a guest at so many, it’s a little hard to believe that I’m actually the mama-to-be. But I suppose the proof is in that big bump above, making it a little hard to forget that I’ll be meeting baby girl in just two months! My sweet friends Diana, Catherine, Lauren, Chanel, Nicole and Darby made the day so special with pretty pink details and meaningful touches… and I’m so happy that my pal Mel could be there to capture it all in gorgeous photos. Keep reading for more…
Gorgeous peonies and garden roses by The Byrd Collective set the girly tone…and a spread of finger sandwiches, chicken salad, macarons and petit fours felt perfectly ladies-who-lunch.
Admiring my friend’s baby Lilliana (and drilling her with labor/sleep/feeding questions)…and a candid moment with Lauren and Chanel.
So excited that my girl Martha Lynn is due only a month ahead of me… I see lots of play dates in our future!!!
The girls collected vintage children’s books to display around the room, and I can’t wait to fill the baby’s bookshelves with them. How gorgeous are those tissue paper peonies that my mom used to top my gift? I only inherited about half of her crafty genes…
So fun having women from so many different parts of my life all in once place. Jess, Nicole and Darby are three of my fave girls ever.
Am I the only one who thinks that Jess bears a striking resemblance to Taylor Swift? Oh yeah, and the gift opening took me way longer than it should have, but I couldn’t resist gushing over every single item and practically melting as I pictured all those cute frocks on my baby daughter. It really was a day I’ll never forget – perfect in every way. Now I just have to get her closet organized, and we’ll be as ready as we’ll ever be!

What a lovely gathering! Everything looked just perfect, I’m so happy you were able to spend such a happy (and beautiful) time with close friends and family!
Looks like you had a beautiful baby shower!! And I love the vintage books – one reason I’m looking forward to having kids is just so I have a legitimate excuse to buy kids books…haha
(And yes your friend totally looks like Taylor Swift!)
Same here – I’ve been having SO much fun discovering all the beautiful new kids books out there. Can’t wait to have a little girl to read them to!!
What a beautiful shower! I love the vintage children’s book idea. (Your friend Jess looks exactly like Taylor Swift. Thought it before I read your comment.)

Beautiful shower, Camille! Would you be able to tell us about the plaid dress your friend is wearing in the first photo? I think I’m in love!
Just heard back from Tolly, and she said: “It’s from Blue Velvet, my favorite vintage shop in Austin. Lots more Betty Draper frocks where that came from. ;)”
Two more months?? I remember reading about your announcement/video like it was yesterday. Where is the time going? 🙂 xo

Such a beautiful shower, Camille! And your Mom is a total rockstar with those tissue paper peonies–she needs her own DIY column!:)

How beautiful & sophisticated!!! Camille thanks for sharing this wonderful moment!! Congrats!
Hi Camille
Wow what a lovely baby shower! I absolutely love the flower arrangement – the Byrd Collective did an amazing job, I always find peonies so hard to do anything with – they seem to have a mind of their own.
Also, LOVING the paper flowers your Mom used for your gift – does she make them or can you buy them somewhere?
Congrats again, I am genuinely so excited for you – 2 months is not long!!
Best wishes & have a great weekend,
Louisa
