Marble backsplash, raw wood chopping boards, gold-lined cabinetry, walnut barstools. Ladies and gentlemen, meet my dream kitchen. Cristina here, and I have been strategizing all of the various ways to make this beauty mine. Until that day comes, I’ve found a few golden touches in the form of a Tom Dixon bowl set and the sleekest fire extinguisher you ever did see. I found these wooden barstools at World Market for a steal, and they do a great job of replacing the tractor stools (for now). And my stand-in for the marble countertops? Marble trivets! Keep reading for the rest of my picks to bring it home…

Ed. note: This gorgeous kitchen is a peek into the Brooklyn penthouse of interior designer & blogger Athena Calderone. Stay tuned for more of Athena’s spot-on style, as we’ll be featuring her weekend home in Amagansett later this week!

It’s the first time I’ve seen cabinets like that, but I’m dying to see someone DIY this.

Me too, I think there’s a simple gold-lined lampshade DIY in there somewhere 😉
