We got back late Sunday night from Disney World, where I was speaking for HGTV at Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival. I brought back tons of fun memories from my first Disney trip, a suitcase bursting with dirty clothes (that still need to be washed) and yes, one tiny Minnie Mouse dressed like a princess, to tuck away for Baby. It’ll be fun to go back and visit when she’s old enough, and experience the magic of Disney through the eyes of a child. I’ll be sharing more details from my garden party presentations later this week on HGTV’s blog, but for now, wanted to share a few of my favorite snapshots from the trip…
For the Flower & Garden Festival, Epcot is decked out with gorgeous blooms and perfectly-formed topiaries. My favorites were definitely the ones of Belle and Beast, because – c’mon, everyone knows that Belle is hands-down the best Disney princess, right? In my preggers state, I couldn’t really ride most of the roller coasters, so I dragged Adam onto the ever-so-tame Dumbo ride. He was a good sport…
Oh my gosh, seeing the little kids meeting Mickey and Minnie was insane – they were excited to the point of screaming and crying! It was so sweet though – you could tell that it was a moment they’d never forget. Here I am giving one of six presentations to audiences at Epcot. It was so fun to talk garden parties and answering audience questions about their entertaining dilemmas. Stay tuned for more over on HGTV Design Happens next week…and crossing fingers that I get to head back to Flower & Garden Festival 2013!
